Red Dress Project For Women's Heart Health Awareness
The number one killer of women is heart disease, inspiring UC Davis fashion design students to create a campaign for heart health awareness. The asymmetrical structure of my design reflects the asymmetry of the heart. I used elements of the Victorian silhouette to illustrate the significance of caring for the heart in folklore. In the stake through Dracula's heart, as motif in ancient mythology, and universal symbol in culture, the heart is a measure of both strength and vulnerability. The dress was presented in Sacramento during National Heart Month in February.
